$500 reward offered

Sometime from 4:00 p.m. on Friday December 30, 2011 to 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday January 3, 2012, an unknown person(s) entered a white pickup truck that was parked on the 100 block of N. Minnesota in Mitchell.  The following items were stolen from the pickup cab: 

-a black Olympic brand AR-15 .223 rifle with 30 shot magazine with a Redfield 3 x 9 scope   mounted on it

-a green case containing:   Ruger brand .30-06 bolt action rifle with a brown stock and a brown  
  leather sling on it.  The sling had a diamond pattern on it.  The rifle had a Leupold brand scope 
  mounted to it.

-Ruger brand 10-22 model .22 rifle with black synthetic sliding stock and pistol grip.  The rifle     
  had a 25 round magazine and a green colored laser sight attached to the rifle. 

The owner of this property has offered an additional $250 reward payable for information provided to Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers if such information leads to the arrest of the subject(s) involved.  With this, a total reward of $500 is offered for information that leads to an arrest of the subject(s) involved.


If you have information in relation to this incident, or if you have information regarding suspicious activity in this area at this time, or information relating to any other crime, please call Crime Stoppers at 996-1700Remember that you do not have to identify yourself, and a CASH REWARD is available if it leads to the arrest of the subject or subjects involved. There are no caller ID’s attached to this phone line, so you will remain anonymous. To send a crime tip via text message, text “MITCS plus your message” to CRIMES (274637).  Upon receipt of a tipster’s first incoming message the system will auto-reply with a confirmation containing the tipster’s unique tip ID.  Anonymous two way communication can then occur between the tipster and Investigators.

Information received through CRIME STOPPERS  remains totally anonymous. Callers who provide information that leads to an arrest(s) will be given a CASH REWARD.

A minimum of $250  is paid for rewards on all “Crime of the Weeks” solved through Crime Stoppers.  Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers, Inc offers this reward.  Rewards will not be paid if crime tips, leading to an arrest, are not made directly to  Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers, Inc. by telephone, text message or by web tip. 

To date 333 crimes have been solved through information from Crime Stoppers.
